Opportunities for Public Engagement in the Linguistic Research Process

Note that this event will be held in Slovenian; the introductory greeting will be given in English.

This webinar will be a conversation between linguists who come into contact with the public in their research work – be it enquirers in the Language Counselling Service or collaborators in developing tools and co-creating databases – orthographic, dialectological, corpus-related, etc. What is their motivation and how would you evaluate and encourage the participation of this dormant public?

The discussion will be led by Dr. Helena Dobrovoljc (Fran Ramovš Institute of the Slovenian Language, ZRC SAZU), and introduced by Ildiko Ipolyi, PhD, GRACE Project Manager at the European Science Foundation, and Mimi Urbanc, PhD, Deputy Director and Project Manager at ZRC SAZU.
